What is powder coating?
Powder coating is a modern finishing process in which metal surfaces are treated without solvents. A fine powder is applied electrostatically to the prepared substrate and then cured at high temperatures. The result is a uniform, highly durable surface.
Unlike solvent-based paints, powder coatings contain no volatile organic compounds — a clear advantage for both the environment and workplace safety.
Our capacity and technology
Lehmann operates a powder coating system capable of processing components up to 3.00 m × 1.20 m × 2.00 m (L × W × H), making it possible to coat even large-format elements consistently and reliably.
The process demands careful pre-treatment. Only a clean, degreased, and in many cases chemically pre-treated substrate will accept the powder uniformly and guarantee adhesion for years to come.

Because Lehmann often offers powder coating and galvanizing under one roof, transport between the two processes is minimised and both can be perfectly coordinated.
Where we are headed
Lehmann plans to make quality more visible — through digital inspection processes, visualisations from the production floor, or live insights into testing procedures. Customers should be able to see not only the result, but also understand the process behind it. There is further potential in combining powder coating with sustainability — for example through environmental EPDs or improved recyclability of surplus powder.
